Celebrity Birthdays of the Month


July 1: Pamela Anderson

It seems only fitting Pamela Anderson was born in a month befitting a bikini. Born July 1st, 1967, in Ladysmith, British Columbia, Anderson is most famous for acting on the syndicated hit Baywatch and for her (former) marriage to rocker Tommy Lee.

July 3: Tom Cruise

No list of July celebrity birthdays would be complete without a mention of everyone’s favorite Scientologist, Tom Cruise. Born Tom Cruise Mapother IV on July 3, 1962, Cruise is one of the highest grossing action adventure stars of all time. Lately however, his controversial views on psychiatry and relationship with actress Katie Holmes have garnered more attention than his status as a major box office draw.

July 9: Tom Hanks

Even Academy Award winners have birthdays, and Tom Hanks is no exception. Born July 9th, 1956, Thomas Jeffrey Hanks went from dressing in drag on the sitcom Bosom Buddies to earning five Academy Award nominations and two of the actual awards.



July 10: Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson may have been a popular teen idol, but she became a household name thanks to her inability to identify ordinary tuna fish. Now she’s wearing Daisy Dukes and going through a highly publicized divorce. Jessica Ann Simpson was born July 10, 1980, in Abilene, Texas.

July 13: Harrison Ford

He may be over 60, but it doesn’t make him any less the hottie. Harrison Ford is next on our list of July celebrity birthdays. Though he had a major role in American Graffiti,Ford shot to stardom first as Han Solo in Star Wars and then as the heroic Indiana Jones.

July 16: Will Ferrell

John William Ferrell was born July 16, 1967, in Irvine, CA. He’s perhaps best known as a cast member on Saturday Night Live. In addition to SNL, Ferrell has also had roles in Old School, Anchorman, and Starsky and Hutch.

July 22: David Spade

Best known for his sarcastic characters, David Spade was born July 22, 1964, in Birmingham, MI. Spade’s career took off in 1990 after joining Saturday Night Live. In addition to acting in movies such as Joe Dirt and Lost and Found, Spade also had a starring role in the sitcom Just Shoot Me and more recently in 8 Simple Rules.

July 24: Jennifer Lopez

Before she became J-Lo, she was Jenny from the block. Born in the Bronx on July 24, 1969, Jennifer Lopez diligently worked to hone her skills as a dancer before landing a role as a “Fly Girl” on television's In Living Color. She became a household name after landing the title role in Selena and the rest, as they say, is history. Lopez has gone on to record six albums and act in 21 movies.

July 26: Mick Jagger

Sir Michael Philip Jagger is, of course, the lead singer for the Rolling Stones. Born July 26, 1943, Jagger proves rock ‘n’ roll isn’t only for the young. In addition to being a musician, Jagger has appeared in 10 films.

July 30: Hilary Swank

Two time Academy Award winner, Hilary Swank was born July 30, 1974, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Before becoming an actress, Swank was a champion swimmer, competing in the Junior Olympics and Washington State Championships. As a teenager struggling to become an actress, Swank and her mother lived in their car until they could afford to rent an apartment. Soon she began to land acting roles on television and in films. In 1999, Swank landed the role of Brandon Teena in Boys Don’t Cry, earning her an Academy Award and making her a much sought-after actress.

July 31: J.K. Rowling

Joanne Rowling is credited with making children eager to read, thanks to the popularity of her Harry Potter series. Rowling, born July 31, 1965, began writing the series longhand in a coffee shop and typing it on a manual typewriter. After 12 rejections, her manuscript was purchased and the world soon became consumed with the Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
